SUCCESS STORIES

KAHNEETA
When I first moved into Haven Homes I was totally unsure of how it was going to go. I didn't want to live with a bunch of people I did not know. That quickly changed and I ended up really enjoying my time at Haven Homes. There was always someone I could talk to when I was feeling down and I was able to help support so many people through their own personal struggles. If I ever need to live in community living again Haven Homes would be my first, last, and only choice.

Living at Haven Homes has been a life-changing experience for me. The supportive community has helped me rebuild my confidence and focus on my recovery journey. It’s a safe, welcoming environment that feels like home, and I’m grateful for the second chance it has given me.

Sobriety is hard and a person REALLY needs to want it. A critical part of the journey is having a support system to help get there. Haven Homes has been an irreplaceable part that system for me. I recommend them to you if you are serious about becoming and staying sober in an independent, supportive, accountable environment.
I allowed my addiction to take away my spirituality, health, family, friends, career, housing and so much more. I wouldn’t admit I had an addiction and needed help. I didn’t have any support network when I chose to be sober. I attended treatment twice, gaining sobriety and choose to go out and use again. It took a third cycle through treatment for me choose and work my program for a lifetime of sobriety.
Haven Homes helped me make the much-needed course correction to maintain my sobriety long term. Day to day, moment by moment, I work to grow with radically positive life change with Haven Homes’ help. I truly don’t believe I would be alive today without Haven Homes.
If not for my decision to commit to the journey of sobriety through the hard work and in large part to Haven Homes a critical piece of that puzzle, I’m sure I would not be as successful. Haven Homes’ respect, love, support, holding me accountable, their patience and the independent living model gave me the tools and self confidence to succeed and thrive.
Thank you Haven Homes for your never ending support creating a happy, productive and sober life.

DESTINY
From the moment I walked through the doors I knew that I was going to love this place because it felt like a home. The decorations all throughout the house are uplifting and spiritual and that comforted me for my entire stay here. I appreciated the structure, accountability, and seriousness of a better future for myself and my housemates that Haven Homes expressed. Both my boys were very comfortable for our entire stay here and also considered it their home happily. I will be forever grateful to Haven Homes for providing me and my children with a comfortable, loving, clean, and sober place to stay during my time here.

When I came to Haven Homes I finally felt safe. It offered me a house that has become my home. I struggled a lot with stability in my life and Haven homes provided that and I learned and I thrived. I have a family here and great friends.
We all walk alongside each other with strength, courage and compassion. We hug, we trust, we talk and most importantly we laugh.

Haven Homes has been a wonderful place to help me stay clean and sober. There is an amazing management team that really cares and believes in me. They push me forward to be a better person every day. I'm also really grateful to live in a place where my roommates support each other in our recovery and help each other to move forward as well. I'm truly blessed.

My name is Elaine Robinson. My clean date is 12/16/20. In my addiction, I lost everything that I cared for, this included my two children. I enrolled in Lifeworks Women Intensive Outpatient in April 2020. Living on my own, I found it impossible to stay clean.
So with the help of my support team at LifeWorks I checked myself into Mountaindale Recovery Center on December 16th of 2020 and devoted myself to my recovery. Immediately, the blessings of recovery were poured out to me. After only two weeks of being there, my children were returned to my care. I learned to love life again without the help of drugs and alcohol.

I graduated from MRC on April 2nd, 2021, and immediately moved into Haven Homes. The support and connection that I found there strengthened my recovery. The friends that became my family will be with me for life. I graduated from LifeWoks Intensive Outpatient Program in October 2021. I have now received my CRM (Certified Recovery Mentor) and PSS (Peer Support Specialist) and am now a part of the Leadership team at Haven Homes.
I have found that my purpose in life is to help those who are hopeless and to love those who cannot love themselves yet. To guide them, if they so desire, to a life of true happiness. To give back what was so freely given to me.

Thank you for the opportunity to say a few words that reflect my gratefulness to be a resident at Haven Homes. Been here now for eight months. I’m very pleased at how the house runs. Very blessed to have the men that are here.
